Multiplication by URDHVA TIRYAGABHIJANI SUTRA

We can calculate the multiplication tables, multiplication and square of any number using “Urdhva Tiryagabhijani” sutra. We can call this as vertically and cross wise. The symbols for two digited numbers are

The symbols are used from right to left.

Step 1: The first symbol indicates straight multiplication to get units.
Step 2: The second symbol indicated cross multiplication to tens.
Step 3: The third symbol indicated straight multiplication to get hundreds.
