How many brothers, sisters and aunts
Step 1: Ask your friend to note down the number of brothers, sisters and aunts
Step 2: Ask him to multiply the number of brothers with 2 and ask him to add 3
Step 3: Ask him to multiply with 5 and ask him to add number of sisters
Step 4: Ask him to multiply with 10 and ask him to add the number of aunts and ask him to reveal the result
Step 5: Subtract 150 from the result and reveal the result
Step 6: Hundreds place represents brothers, tens place represents sisters and units place represents aunts
Secret: In doing the above process, we have added 150, hence subtract 150.
Step 1: Let brothers be 3, sisters be 2, and aunts be 4
Step 2: 3 x 2 + 3 = 9
Step 3: 9 x 5 = 45 + 2 = 47
Step 4: 47 x 10 = 470, 470 + 4 = 474
Step 5: 474 – 150 = 324

Hence brothers = 3, sisters = 2 and aunts =4
  Algebraic Explanation:
  1. Let the brothers be X, Sisters be Y, and aunts be Z
  2. X + 2 = 2X, 2X + 3
  3. (2X + 3 ) 5 = 10X + 15, 10X + 15 + Y
  4. (10X + 15 + Y) 10 = 100X + 150 + 10Y, 100X + 150 + 10Y + Z
  5. 100 + 150 + 10Y + Z – 150 = 100X + 10Y + Z
