How many planets in the solar system?
Step 1: Ask your friend to write any number below 10
Step 2: Ask him to multiply with 2
Step 3: Ask him to multiply with 5
Step 4: Ask him to add 17
Step 5: Ask him to subtract 8
Step 6: Ask him to cancel the tens place, and ask him to take it as the number of plants in the solar system
Secret: Always you get 9 as the first number
Step 1: Let the friends number be 8
Step 2: 8 x 2 = 16
Step 3: 16 x 5 = 80
Step 4: 80 + 17 = 97
Step 5: 97 – 8 = 89
Step 6: 89 = 9
Hence the planets in the solar system = 9
  Algebraic Explanation:
  1. Let the number be X
  2. X x 2 = 2X
  3. 2X x 5 = 10X
  4. 10X + 17
  5. 10X + 17 – 8 = 10X + 9
  6. 10X + 9 = 9
