EXAMPLES IN BASIC MATHEMATICS

Concepts And Skills

Mathematical Table -5 (Even Numbers)

Step 1: Look at the number whether it is even or odd
Step 2: If it is even take zero as units,
Step 3: Take half of the number and take it as tens
For
8 x 5 =40 (Half of 8 is 4)
16 x 5 =80 (Half of 16 is 8)
54 x 5 =270 (Half of 54 is 27)
84 x 5 =420 (Half of 84 is 42)
124 x 5 =620 (Half of 124 is 62)
248 x 5 =1240 (Half of 248 is 124)
Mathematical Table - 5 (ODD NUMBERS)
Step 1: If it is odd take 5 as units
Step 2: Take half of the number (Leaving the remainder) and take it as tens

7 x 5 =35 (Half of 7 is 3)
17 x 5 =85 (Half of 17 is 8)
27 x 5 =135 (Half of 27 is 13)
47 x 5 =235 (Half of 47 is 23)
135 x 5 =675 (Half of 135 is 67)
265 x 5 =1325 (Half of 265 is 132)
Mathematical Table - 6 (EVEN NUMBERS)
Step 1: Look at the number whether it is even or odd
Step 2: If it is even take the units place as it is and add it to tens
Step 3: Take half of the number and add it to tens

4 x 6 =24 (Half of 4 is 2)
8 x 6 =48 (Half of 8 is 4)
24 x 6 =144 (12 + 2 = 14)
36 x 6 =216 (18 + 3 = 21)
76 x 6 =456 (38 + 7 = 45)
124 x 6 =744 (62 + 12 = 74)
Mathematical Table - 6 (ODD NUMBERS)
Step 1: If it is odd add 5 and take it as units
Step 2: Take the half of the number and add it to the tens place and take it as tens
  For 3 x 6 = 18 (Since 3 is odd, add 5 to 3. 3 + 5 = 8, Half of 3 is 1)

7 x 6 =42 (7 + 5 = 12, 30 + 12 = 42)
17 x 6 =102 (17 + 5 = 22, 8 + 2 = 10)
27 x 6 =162 (27 + 5 = 32, 13 + 3 = 16)
39 x 6 =234 (39 + 5 = 44, 19 + 4 = 23)
75 x 6 =450 (75 + 5 = 80, 37 + 8 = 45)
